The federal government is expected to announce as soon as tomorrow that travellers entering Canada will no longer have to take a pre-arrival COVID-19 test, according to CBC News.
Under the new measures, As of April 1, people wishing to arrive or return to Canada will no longer need to obtain a negative test for COVID-19. According to sources from Radio-Canada and CBC, this new border relief should be announced by the end of the week by the Minister of Health, Jean-Yves Duclos. Currently, travelers wishing to come to the country – regardless of the means of transport – must provide the negative result of a PCR test, carried out 72 hours before arrival, or that of an antigen test , which must be done the day before departure. By the end of March, these requirements will be dropped, whether for properly vaccinated travelers coming by plane or car.
